4 Principles Of Mobile UX Design You Should Know In 2023

3 Mins read

Creating an app is a daunting and time-consuming task. It requires plenty of effort and hard work involved in the process. Your mission might be to provide users with an app that is all-in-one for them from design to accessibility everything goes in the flow. As a designer, you want to meet the basic requirements of mobile app users. Your entire focus delves into its accessibility and efficiency.

Let’s suppose you have developed a mobile application that is useful and has the ability to add purpose to people’s lives, yet you do not get praise for it and have not made any changes for people. Could you guess why? Well, chances are that it was not convenient and user-friendly. Hence, it can be said that the mobile app’s UX design is not playing its part as it should.

To maintain the user’s attention, an app’s UX must uniformly prove its ability and value. If the app is beyond doubt, adheres to a problem, and is convenient and fun to use, it is regarded highly among users. In other words, you’ll get more and more downloads and people will eventually suggest it to their family and friends.

Take an example of a booking app. Many designers are found asking how do I create a taxi booking app that is customer-friendly and meets the goals of its users. Many famous booking apps have been following a design that lets customers book transport without any hassle. Many of them are following these principles religiously so should you as a mobile app designer.

That is why here are four principles of mobile UX apps that every designer should keep in mind.

User-control

It is a foremost important mobile UX design principle that is, good user control. People like to control their apps like they control their day-to-day tasks. This is what you should aim to give them by creating an app that lets them have the best user-control experience.

Users should have the freedom to customize their apps according to their preferences. Allow them to control notifications, general settings, and spam control settings. In this way, they can manage what is important and what should be blocked. Your app can offer the necessary feedback without disrupting the user’s work. This will empower the users with a sense of transparency and freedom.

Personalization is said to be the core of good mobile UX design. Personalization spurs the users toward options and settings that are relevant to them and discard those that are of no use to them.

Actions That Fit The Size Of The Screen

The mobile screens are of different sizes. Therefore, including too many icons and elements on a single screen can frustrate the users. It is noticed among the users that they prefer a wide-spaced screen that has some free room for additions. It is better to input one function or operation on a single screen. A better suggestion is to split the actions and let the user decide what they consider to keep on the screen.

The Coherence Of The Text In The App

The key to mobile app efficiency how readable the text is. What is the point of entering content if it is not comprehensible to the users? So, this is a must-have for the app’s UX design. Choosing the right typography is the key to getting the user’s intention. The purpose is to deliver a message effortlessly to the users which is possible only when it’s readable.

Quick Gestures

Gestures play an important role when t comes to design. For instance, swiping down two fingers will take a screenshot. Isn’t that a great gesture? How about pinching inward and the camera tool pops? Double-tapping on Instagram allows the user to like instead of touching the heart icon.

This principle should not be ignored when it comes to user-friendly apps. App designers need to consider creating gestures that people are familiar with using on most apps and social media platforms.

Conclusion

No app becomes popular unless it is fitting the desires of the users. A user-friendly app has more chance of becoming known to a large population.
